Dr. Glenn Coffin, after completing his Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences at Virginia Tech, traveled to Boston to earn his Doctor of Optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry in 2018. Prior to joining the Beach Eye Care team, he served as an independent Doctor of Optometry within rural communities in upstate New York before returning to his home state of Virginia. During his schooling, Dr. Coffin gained extensive experience in the comprehensive treatment of binocular disorders through the utilization of prism lenses and vision therapy. His clinical focus encompasses premium optics and contact lens technologies (including scleral fits for Keratoconus and other conditions), pediatric myopia management, wide-scope ocular pathology and emergency visits, treatment of chronic dry eye disease, and long-term diabetic/glaucoma/macular degenerative care. Dr. Coffin also serves as the preceptor of Beach Eye Care’s student externship program, guiding the next generation of student optometrists into the modern world of medical optometry.
In his free time, Dr. Coffin enjoys spending time with his local family, playing guitar, reading fantasy novels, and playing games with his lifelong friends of 15+ years.
