What Does ICL Mean?
ICL stands for implantable collamer lens. Collamer is a soft, flexible polymeric material that is biocompatible with the collagen in the cornea, so it works with your natural eye to improve vision. Think of it as a permanent contact lens without the daily maintenance. Once it is in place it does not move and you will not feel it. Though designed to remain in the eye long term, it can be removed by your doctor, allowing for potential lens adjustments to adapt to future vision changes.

ICL Surgery – A Fast and Safe Procedure
The EVO ICL lens is implanted between your iris (the colored part of the eye) and your natural lens in a procedure that takes 20-30 minutes. Your eyes will be numbed during the procedure, and most patients report vastly clearer vision almost immediately after surgery. In most cases, patients experience a significant reduction in recovery time compared to laser vision correction procedures due to the small incision and absence of sutures.
