Dr. Nathan Kanyinda, a Board-Certified Oculoplastic Surgeon, graduated with his medical degree from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. He was amongst the top of his class receiving academic honors as well as a nomination to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. He went on to further his expertise with a general medical internship at the University of Hawaii and his ophthalmology residency at Howard University Hospital and the VA Medical Centers in Washington, DC and Orlando, FL. He completed his Oculoplastic Surgery Fellowship at the University of New Mexico Hospital, a level one trauma center in Albuquerque, New Mexico. His fellowship training included extensive surgical experience in the field of eyelid and facial plastics with combined cases in ENT, maxillofacial and general plastics surgery.
Dr. Kanyinda specializes in cosmetic and reconstructive eyelid surgery, brow surgery, benign and malignant eyelid lesions, reconstruction after Bell’s palsy, orbital surgery, and tear duct surgery.
He also offers non-surgical cosmetic options including Botox, skin laser resurfacing, chemical peels and skin rejuvenation products.
He is proficient in Spanish, and fluent in French. When he’s not in the office, Dr. Kanyinda enjoys mentoring medical and pre-medical students via social media, podcasts and speaking engagements.
