I had a great experience getting LASIK from Beach Eye Care, specifically with Dr. Alvarez. The consult was scheduled the same week I called, with surgery the next day. Smooth process with clear communication the whole time, and Dr. Alvarez was very professional during the consult and procedure. Highly recommend, I went from legally blind to 20/20, best money I’ve ever spent.

Dr. Jason Alvarez is a board-certified ophthalmologist with a passion for helping people see their best. Originally from the Philippines, he moved to the U.S. in 2007 and graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of North Florida. He earned his medical degree from Florida International University’s Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine, where his love for eye care truly took root.
Dr. Alvarez completed his residency at the Krieger Eye Institute in Baltimore, where he served as Chief Resident, and has received extensive training in advanced vision correction techniques, including LASIK, SMILE and ICL Surgery. During his final year of training, he independently completed the Refractive Surgery Alliance Resident Course and devoted much of his elective time to training with Dr. Sonny Goel, one of the most prominent refractive surgeons in Maryland. He’s a proud member of several leading ophthalmology organizations and brings a thoughtful, patient-first approach to treating cataracts, glaucoma, and refractive conditions.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Alvarez enjoys time with his wife Payton, son Miles, and their pug Ernie. He’s also into fitness, basketball, billiards, horology (the study and assembly of watches), and playing guitar.

It’s a fairly common occurrence and generally you don’t need to rush into surgery or have too much cause for concern.
