Emily Scannell, O.D.

Emily Scannell, OD completed her Bachelor of Science degree at St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY. She then received her Doctorate of Optometry degree from Salus University, Pennsylvania College of Optometry. During her clinical rotations, she gained experience in various ocular arenas including primary and specialty care including low vision case management, contact and specialty lens fitting and care for patients with legal blindness resulting from glaucoma, retinitis pigmentosa and macular degeneration. Following her rotation assignments and prior to joining Beach Eye Care, she worked closely with Family Optometric Associates, serving active duty and retired military and their dependents. A member of Tidewater, Virginia and American Optometric Associations, Dr. Scannell brings a comprehensive skillset to the Beach Eye Care team. An avid runner, when not serving Beach Eye Care patients you’ll likely find her participating in local half- and full-marathon events.
