My corrective eye surgery with Beach Eye Care exceeded just about every expectation I had. From the initial consultation to the post-op follow-ups, my experience has been nothing but pleasant. My LASIK team in particular (Dr. Levine, Amanda, Jen, and Micha) on the day of the surgery went to great lengths to ensure that I was comfortable throughout the procedure. Between multiple previous sports injuries and motorcycle riding accidents, I’ve had a number of surgical procedures done, and Dr. Levine has the best bedside manner of just about any medical professional I’ve ever dealt with. I’m grateful to have such a high-quality local option for eye care.

I had aggressive cataracts in both eyes. Doctor Levine and the team were very helpful. I went from great eyesight to bad in 4 weeks before I met him. He did the surgery for the first eye. I saw a big difference, then two weeks later the other one. I had to have my lenses replaced also during these procedures. I now have better than twenty twenty vision. My experience went great. I am very grateful.

Dr. Levine provided plenty of information about lasik surgery before hand. Afterwards, explicit instructions were also given. He takes time to answer your questions without making you feel rushed. The staff was professional and efficient. Outcome was great!

Dr. Ed Levine is a board-certified ophthalmologist who joined the Beach Eye Care team in 2016 and currently serves as our Director of Cataract Surgery. In practice for more than thirty years, Dr. Levine joined us following his tenure as Department Head of Ophthalmology and the Founding Director of the Laser Refractive Surgery Center at Portsmouth Naval Medical Center. A graduate of Kansas State University, Dr. Levine completed his medical degree at University of Kansas School of Medicine, after which he began his 27-year career in the U.S. Navy. He completed an internship in internal medicine and his residency in ophthalmology at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego. During his career in the Navy, Captain Levine was awarded a vast array of medals and commendations, including a Defense Meritorious Service Medal, two Meritorious Service Medals, two Navy Commendation Medals, two Navy Achievement Medals and many other esteemed ribbons and awards. Dr. Levine is a board-certified surgeon in ophthalmology and has spent more than thirty years specializing in anterior segment surgery, LASIK, laser-assisted cataract surgery and EVO ICL.
When he’s not helping patients achieve their best vision possible, you’ll find Dr. Levine firing up the grill or smoker to cook for his family and friends, traveling, enjoying weekly football, or playing with his dogs.
