VIRGINIA BEACH, VA — September 12, 2025 — Beach Eye Care (BEC) has announced that Elleny Gutierrez, MD, a board-certified, fellowship-trained glaucoma specialist, has joined its physician team, further strengthening the practice’s commitment to delivering comprehensive eye care with the region’s best doctors and treatment options.
Dr. Gutierrez earned her B.A. from Columbia University, completed her M.D. and Ophthalmology Residency at Louisiana State University Health, and recently finished a Glaucoma Fellowship at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. She diagnoses and treats normal tension, narrow angle, neovascular, and open-angle glaucoma, as well as glaucoma suspects, and performs the full range of procedures from MIGS and laser therapies to advanced surgeries, including tube shunts and trabeculectomy. She also provides premium cataract surgery.
