NIGHT & DAY®
See Carefree…Every Night and Day
Ever wish you could sleep in your lenses and avoid the hassles of handling them every day? Now you can, with NIGHT & DAY ® from CIBA Vision. It’s the first contact lens that can be worn safely 24 hours a day for up to 30 days and nights—even while you sleep. Or do you wish you had contact lenses that were comfortable ALL day? NIGHT & DAY lenses permeate six times more oxygen than conventional lenses. Drs. Lipton and Dunn recommend NIGHT & DAY lenses for better health and comfort.
In addition, NIGHT & DAY contact lenses are FDA, Health Canada, and CE Mark approved for therapeutic use throughout the U.S., Canada, and European Union. This means the lens can be used as a bandage to protect your eye and relieve pain following an eye injury or surgical procedure.
These revolutionary lenses allow six times more oxygen than ordinary soft disposable lenses. They’re so comfortable that you might even forget you’re wearing them. Plus, you’ll see clearly all the time—even when you get up in the middle of the night.
Contact Lenses
New materials and advancements in contact lens technology provide greater comfort, safety, and ease in wearing. Multiple types of lenses are available:
- soft
- rigid gas permeable (RGP or hard)
- daily wear
- extended-wear
- disposable
- soft torics for astigmatism
- colored
Beach Eye Care has more than 10,000 contact lenses in inventory. We are often able to dispense your initial contact lenses the day of your evaluation. For your convenience, a yearly supply of contact lenses and solutions can be dispensed from our large inventory.
There are a number of factors affecting your ability to wear contact lenses safely with minimal risk of infection or allergies. Your eyes’ general health will be evaluated for:
- tear production
- eye shape
- blinking, eyelids
- specific prescription
Your general health and other factors will be assessed:
- current medications
- motivation to wear contacts
- work environment
- past history with contacts
- ability to properly care for your contacts
This complete evaluation enables us to select the appropriate contact lenses for you. Our doctors recommend an annual evaluation of your eye health to monitor for allergies, infections, dry eyes and other medical eye problems.
Contact lens fittings can be performed on the day of your initial complete eye exam by informing the receptionist of your desire when scheduling your appointment.
Better Technology for a Better Fit
Corneal Topography
Corneal topography (also called “corneal mapping”) evaluates 8,000 to 10,000 specific points across the entire corneal surface. It measures corneal curvature by shining a light onto the surface of the eye, then evaluates the reflected light to yield a measurement of the cornea’s actual refractive power. Corneal topography is particularly useful in measuring astigmatism and managing complex contact lens fitting.
The data yielded by corneal topography assists the doctor in fitting gas permeable lenses and aids in evaluating the topographical impact of corneal changes in patients who wear soft contact lenses. Some corneal topography equipment can assist in selecting the optimal contact lens size and design.
In addition, corneal mapping is an important tool for the diagnosis and management of conditions and diseases of the cornea, such as keratoconus or corneal scarring, and to evaluate unexplained vision loss.
Pentacam
The rotating Pentacam provides a three-dimensional image of the front segment of the eye. The center of the cornea is measured very precisely because of this rotational imaging process. It takes less than two seconds for the Pentacam to simultaneously capture and correct minute eye movements. By measuring 25,000 true elevation points, precise representation, repeatability and analysis are guaranteed.
Orbscan ®
The revolutionary Orbscan system provides 9,000 checkpoints of data about the eye in less than two seconds, and meticulously maps both the front and back of the cornea .

Lens Care and Replacement
Few things affect your quality of life more than your vision, and you should never put it at risk. As a contact lens wearer, proper care and frequent changing of your contact lenses are essential to keeping your eyes healthy and your vision clear.
Because everyone’s eyes and vision needs are different, contact lenses are available with varying schedules for removal and replacement. All lenses, however, fall into one of two categories: DAILY WEAR or EXTENDED WEAR.
DAILY WEAR contact lenses should be removed every night before going to bed. They are later discarded and replaced with a new pair at varying intervals. Some daily wear lenses are discarded every day, while others are discarded after one or two weeks or longer. If these lenses are re-used they must be cleaned and disinfected before they are worn again.
EXTENDED WEAR contact lenses are worn overnight until the end of the wear schedule. Disposable extended wear lenses are discarded when removed. Others are cleaned, disinfected, and reused again before being replaced.
When you follow the replacement schedule your doctor has recommended, lenses are replaced before the buildup of deposits on the surface of the lens can degrade lens performance. Patients often find it illogical to throw away lenses while their vision and comfort are still good. However, some eye problems can go unnoticed for a long time before symptoms occur. Complying with the replacement schedule is the best way to avoid complications and prevent problems in the future.
